ROMANTIC PRAIRIE STYLE is featured in the April issue of CS INTERIORS magazine (Chicago).
It was interesting to see how the review was written as it was done in conjunction with the concept of Little House on the Prairie and Frank Lloyd Wright's prairie style architecture.
Of course, I am very grateful to see Romantic Prairie Style featured in this beautiful magazine though surprised because it is such a luxurious and modern publication.

also featured my little cottage in this month issue. In this instance they cleverly used photos from 3 different shoots: two by Dan Mayers) and one by myself. What's really cool, at least for me, is to see how my living room and dining room have changed since the original shoot.
I hope you read Italian.......but even if you don't you can at least enjoy the photos and the beautiful layouts the magazine does.......
(I am not sure what they said about me but I trust them....)

Spring is very short lived in Florida. It's already much too hot but the evenings are balmy. The garden seems to thrive in the heat but it won't be long before it suffers from the intense sun and humidity. So, for now, I enjoy every (very) early mornings and late (very late) afternoons. Won't you join me?
A garden is so rewarding but, like anything in life, it responds to care and love, without either it may survive but will suffer. Be kind to your flowers and they will love your right back. Promise!
Sweet, cheerful pansies and violas always make me smile.......
My "Dr. Zeuss" (I don't know the real name) tree bursts with fireworks-like blossoms...
Morning glories are simply, well....glorious!
This year the roses are abundant and their fragrances heavenly............
Love the white Florida wisteria. The blooms look like tiny starfish.....
I wish I remembered the name of this amazing tree with big beautiful pink flowers that smell like honey and vanilla.....
This is the last of the foxgloves. They are a favorite of mine because they seem right out of a fairy tale book....
Now it's night time and I wish you could see the thousands of fireflies lighting up the garden with their graceful flittering about......

I hope you all had a lovely Easter weekend. I spent mine working on a much neglected part of my house. Last year I invested in doing the guest house (you have all seen the photos so I won't bore you with too many, just one will do.........)
But the front windows and front room of my house were in dire need of TLC.......So, with the help of my handy neighbor, we embarked on the removal of the 1925-rusted windows and rotten wood of the front room. Also took out the side windows and replaced them with new siding and new bead board on the inside. We are only halfway done. But here is out it's coming along so far......

Once the front window removed, we replaced the 2 big old ones with 2 smaller ones and also built a new wall where the side one was. This new siding is really cool because it's made of concrete (looks just like wood) and termite-proof. it comes already primed so I just had to paint it to match the original one (to the right of the green board)

Now you can see the 2 new windows in the front and the finished bead board wall
Of course I rewarded myself by "playing" with a few accessories, though there is still the other half of the room to do (next weekend) and also replace the fabric I have had on the ceiling with bead board.......
Keep in mind that this is still a work in progress...

Meanwhile, I have also been tending the courtyard garden and it's looking lovely at this time of the year......

Also got some laundry done this weekend. The weather was just perfect for hanging clothes to dry outside......
Lastly, I came across this sweet hanging planter from IKEA
The closest store to me is in Tampa and I just don't have time to go there so I tried to order them online but they didn't offer them. I asked my sister (in France) to check her nearest Ikea store and she bought 2 for me (and 2 for herself!!) What a lovely sister I have! Lucky me.
This is hers. Mine are coming by mail so it will be a little while before I get them.

I will not have a chance to blog a lot in the coming months as I will be "gone shooting" for book #2 and for magazines but I will try to blog while on the road.
