BONJOUR MY FRIENDS!
Here I am! Well, at least for a few days as I am leaving again at the end of June for a month-long shoots in California. So, it's time for a quick update.
My eyesight is getting worse (like my new glasses?) I like to thing it's the result of looking through the camera lens too many times or being fixated on the computer screen and not "a getting older" thingie.....
I can't believe it has been over a month since I last posted but, as you probably know, I have been on shoots in Illinois, Vermont, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut and New York so time just flew by.
Mark and I have have been shooting for magazines (American and Europeans) and for my new book too.
We had a lovely time in Illinois.
We got to see JOY again and also ANGELA, as usual they were wonderfully hospitable.
JOY snapped this photo of Mark and I............
AANNE MARIE'S Na-Da Farm Event WAS A HUGE SUCCESS
and the BOHO Ball
was fun (I did wear that outfit I showed in a previous post--Mark called us (REBECCA left,DONNA,on the right) "The Former Saloon Girls.") But, another day, having to outrun a tornado wasn't fun. That was really scary. We ended up having to hide in a little roadside diner and when the weather looked as it was getting a little bit less threatening I ordered a salad and a BIG glass of wine. Well it was the worse salad and the worse vino I ever had but I figured that I may as well enjoy them because it could be my LAST meal!
Over at JEN I took a minute to allow my inner little Fifi to come out to play.....
...and re-shooting TRACEY'S home was pure pleasure. She also took a picture of Mark and I......
In fact, we had a lot of dangerous weather issues almost everywhere we went and lots of adventures too:
From Na-Da Farm to Raspberry Field Farm, BerryBog Farm and Fat Toad Farm --and all the homes in between, it has been fabulous. Though, as usual, I can't post the photos we took, I made a little "teaser" collage.....
Shooting for magazines is always fun and shooting for book 2 is as much a treat as it was for book one! By the way, ROMANTIC PRAIRIE STYLE is featured in the current issues of FRESH COTTAGE and also in the acclaimed magazine of the BBC:
BBC HOMES AND ANTIQUES
FRESH COTTAGE
and in the beautiful
JEANNE D'ARC LIVING

Lastly, while on shoots in California, for those of you who are interested I have several book signings:

Hey My Sweet Fifi Girl!
You have been about as busy as I with all the states you have put under your belt!
I just got back from Farm Chicks and visiting my daughters, now I am getting ready for Donna's event at Tipton. Then I am staying home for awhile and catching up on my studio work before heading to In to help Donna get ready for you and Mark. I talked to Jo but I think I am not doing the Creative Connection... I'm tired. What kind of vitamins are you taking? Maybe I should just lay off the champagne in the middle of the day...ha!
Blessings to you, I hope all is good in your world.
Rebecca
PS Maybe it should be the "Rode hard saloon girls" or at least in my case :)

Oh Fifi, I love hearing about your travels and adventures. You meet some lovely people and your popular blog, books and magazines help me feel that there is still grace and beauty, in a world gone harsh.
I totally love fine china, beautiful glassware, flowers, chintz, gauze, old doorknobs, skeleton keys, chandelier fobs, old jewellery, antique linens and laces, scent bottles -- the FINE stuff. So many people get rid of silver and lead crystal and I think it's sad. A plastic bowl just doesn't give the same ambience as a glass or pottery or crystal one. But I know I am preaching to the converted! Have wonderful journeys.

What a crazy whirlwind you have been caught up in. And that tornado... oh my gosh. My hydrangea lost all its blooms but we were otherwise untouched. So glad you and Mark found that diner. I hope you are healing (ribs and knee.. after our tow hitch got you). It was sweet to spend some time with you. I hope we'll have the opportunity again. Maybe without cameras and a ball to attend. Just relaxing and enjoying a day. Hope you have some time to recover before you're off again. Take care of you. Hugs.... Polly

Hi Sweet Princess,
So glad you were able to get away from that tornado. So many adventures and people seen but Lucy is trying to tell you, there's No place like home and of course, she loves you so much!
You may have had the worst glass of wine after beating that tornado but you're almost on your way to Wine Country now where there are many a glass/bottle of excellent wines, everywhere you turn, people will offer you & Mark a glass for certain, maybe Mark will smile a lot!! Love the photo of you sitting in the silver SUV, it's beautiful, as are all the photos.
I would offer to come watch Cinderella's Castle and guest cottage but I don't want to miss seeing you in town. I am over the Moon as is Barb at Uniquely Chic in Healdsburg, actually the entire town is awaiting your visiting our town.
Love, love, love to you and the chats (especially Lucy)

Dear Fifi,
I wanted you to know I just purchased your book at Barnes and Noble and I love, love it. I am so impressed by the great quality of the book and the illustrations. Everything about the book if first class! I think it is so pretty I am going to display it on my coffee table for awhile. It is full of inspiration and that is what I am all about. I can't always picture things in my head but when I see a picture, I get an idea and go with it. I also purchased the latest Romantic Country and it seems to have a different feel and look??? Maybe it is just my imagination. I enjoyed the article on Christie Repasy but would have liked more pictures with it.
