Time to go shooting for the next book and also for magazines. I am so looking forward to this new phase!!
Fortunately, Mark and I will be shooting in the Chicago area and also doing a couple of book signings.
The first book signing is May 19 at the beautiful
in Geneva, Illinois
also taking in
and the second book signing will take place during
THE NADA FARM EVENT MAY 20 &21
So, what's a Fifi-Girl to wear to
Anne Marie's BOHO BALL?
Well, since the style is wide open to personal interpretation I thought I would go all out and make the most of the opportunity to play dress up.
Here is what I came up with:
I made a headband with fabric and paper flowers embellished with a few rhinestones and ribbons.........
I ordered this lovely dress from
MAGDALENA
(merdalonka@gmail.com)
and treated myself to the boots from
I also got the white pettitcoat from them but now, it's a pale PINK to peak at the bottom of the dress and recall the pink roses from the headband......
Soooo, do you think I will be BOHO enough?????
Of course Mark will take lots of photos of the events and I will post them as soon as I get a chance.

Oh how I wish I could go and meet you in your fabulous Fifi frock! I must tell you how much I've been enjoying the Romantic Prairie style book. It is always at my bedside table. I also won a copy on a blog giveaway and gave it to my Mom-in-law who adores it!

I was planning on going to the Na-Da Farm event but my son and daughter-in-law are expecting their baby boy any day so for sure don't want to miss out on that. Fifi, you are fabulous and the best model for my dress. This is the way how I imagined the dress should be worn when I was making it. I love it with cowboy boots and the headband is just absolutly perfect. I'm going to try to come to Geneva, IL to see you, but my car is doing weird things lately. I have just become a follower recently and ordered your book...it just arrived this morning. I just wanted to tell you that when I was showing hubby what I had bought I went to the back of the book to show him who you were (he was curious about your unusual name ;). As I was reading it to him I was shocked to see you lived in Manitoba for a while. I was born and raised in Selkirk just north of Winnipeg. I now live in Kansas...so your book is 'right up my alley!' I know you must be getting a bit embarrassed, humbled and a little bit tired of all the praise you are getting for your book. However, I can finally say all of it is rightly deserved!!Why so long to get it?? Well I pre-ordered it months ago from amazon.com and it was mailed on the first of April. It only took 6 weeks to get here because all parcels have to go through customs in Guadalajara and our courier company only delivers them once a month!! Yikes what a long wait and to boot they charge about $25.00 for weight! OH BUT SOOOOOO worth it!! LW picked it up from our mailbox today and I couldn't put it down until I had read every single word and sighed over each photo!! You have managed to do what no other "home style" book I have, has done. To read it from cover to cover with shear admiration of the way you were able to keep my attention visually. Along with writing in an intelligent, respectful, and engaging way! Letting the home owners voice their own interpretations, instead of you presuming to interpret their creative feelings of the "prairie style" was nothing short of genius. Outstanding!! And you have my personal thank you for not using the irritating word "chippy, chippie" in a description. :)
I am truthfully excited to see yours and Mark's newest creation!!! Even if I do have to wait 6 weeks to receive it! ;)
