GORGEOUS GREEN......................

GREEN IS "IN" IN MORE WAYS THAN ONE. AND I AM ALL FOR IT, ESPECIALLY THE ECOLOGY AND RECYCLING ASPECTS. BUT AS FAR AS THE COLOR ITSELF GOES I FIND IT REFRESHING AND UPLIFTING. 

I NEVER PAID MUCH ATTENTION TO HOW OFTEN IT SHOWS UP IN MY OWN LITTLE REALM BUT, WHILE LOOKING FOR SOME OF MY PHOTOS FOR AN ARTICLE, I SUDDENLY DISCOVERED I HAD UNCONSCIOUSLY INCORPORATED IT IN MANY WAYS. MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE IT'S THE COLOR OF NATURE OR MAYBE IT'S BECAUSE IT'S THE COLOR OF HOPE...

 

WITH ADAN AND EVE IT BEGAN WITH AN APPLE (NOT SURE IT WAS A GREEN ONE THOUGH...) BUT AT CHEZ FIFI IT STARTED WITH A GREEN PEAR.....

....THEN A LITTLE GREEN CANDLE, A GLASS STARFISH AND A SILVER RIMMED GLASS...)

MORE STARS BUT THE EDIBLE KIND FROM THE STAR FRUIT.................................

AND BEAUTIFUL (THOUGH POISONOUS) SEED PODS FROM WHICH TRUMPET SHAPE BLOSSOMS WILL SPRING..........)

I agree with you Fifi. I never tire of green. I love it in every shade. My 99 year old grandmother, who was a fine quilter in her day, used it as a neutral with all of her other colors. I especially love it with shades of white and cream. The garden boots are adorable and I'm assuming that they aren't in stock anymore. But I have to check anyway!

what a lovely collection of greens. i love pairing greens and blues like on your cake stand. in my dining room i have smoke blue chairs and the walls are pale mint. {of course green and pink are always wonderful.} i am also a big fan of tone on tone. sorry to go on!

We live in Central Oregon, at the edge between the Cascade range and the upper desert. We spent the weekend over in the Willamette Valley for a family reunion. The amount of different shades of green over there compared to here at home is AMAZING. My kids did not want to leave the lushness of the valley to return to our much more stark homeland. In floral design it also has been considered the finishing color if alittle something was missing... They taught a touch of apple green will complete and it usually did. Pictures are stunning....
