DAISY UPDATE.....................
I am very happy to report that, as of yesterday, kitty Daisy has improved a lot. She is eating, drinking (and, yes, pooping..) grooming herself and even playing. She is back to her old trick of laying on her back for me to rub her tummy. She follows me around like a puppy and has reclaimed her favorite spot on the scanner--I am so relieved that I don't even care if her hair is all over my computer--and she calls me to come to bed when she thinks I am working too late.....
The poor little thing has had quite an ordeal for the past 2 weeks and still has to take her pills twice a day (yuck!) until the end of this week. But that too shall pass.
I am so thankful for all the concerned emails/comments and "pill taking" advices you have so willingly shared. It's obvious that many of you have had to deal with sick pets and can relate to the trauma it involves. It's also clear that there is a lot of love and compassion floating around the blogsphere. DAISY and I thank you very very much.

I know it's boring but, at the moment, I really don't have time for anything beside work. I have to finish editing/proofing the next issue of Romantic Country before I leave for California.
I had planned to work on the chandelier crystals and a few other projects but I only got as far as doing a couple more crystals. I am hanging them on the metal tree I bought a month or 2 ago. I wasn't sure what I was going to do with it but it's perfect for that.
The larger crystals are actually Christmas ornaments I had bought at Home Goods several weeks ago. Some are see-through--like crystals--other are mirrored. They came in boxes of 3 and they are $5.99 a box. So, it's affordable. Hopefully I will finish the whole thing before the end of the year..........although it's kind of useless, I just love the look of it. It's rather ethereal and the crystals act like little message boards.....

The weather has, FINALLY, turned cool enough to warrant a change in attire. For the first time since last spring I got to wear tops with sleeves. It was a good reason to done the crown t-shirt I bought in France back in May...very girlie, very blingy, very Fifi.............(unfortunately I wore it while giving Daisy her pill one morning and she managed to put a hole in it and tear some of the rhinestones off....my bad!)
VOILA! I am not sure if I will have time but if I can I will post one more entry before leaving for California. In case I don't, I wish everyone a delicious and loving Thanksgiving.
Thanks again for all the love and compassion for Daisy and me.
XOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXOXXOO, GRATEFUL FIFI

Fifi, what wonderful news that Daisy is so much better. Only a few more days of pills and everything will be back to normal. Love the Crystal tree. What a shame that Daisy has damaged your top. next time you go back to France you will have to get another one.
Take care.

Yay for Daisy! And I love those crystal ornaments. I once saw an entire tree decorated with almost nothing but old chandelier crystals and I've been trying to recreate that look ever since. I wonder if I have a Home Goods around here! I must find out! ~Angela :-)

depending on the pill it can be wrapped in a pill pocket. these are really soft treats that you can hide pills in- my vet carries them and so does our local pet supply store. if you must pill without hiding it i would gently wrap your kitty in a towel (i heat in the dryer sometimes since my cat loves heat). i always follow with a syringe of water so the pill goes down easily and it is easier on the esphogous. this will help for the eye goop too (i have used that on my cat and its not fun). this way the cat is restrained and you can get it all done faster so less stress for your kitty and you.

What great news to hear on Monday morning! I was imagining how hard it would be for you to leave this week if Daisy wasn't doing well. The pic of her on her back is too adorable!
I am enchanted with the message crystals! I'd love to try this.

Sweet Fifi~I am so glad to hear that your fur baby Daisy is doing fine now! It's so sad when our pets are not well, since they can't speak in words to tell us exactly what is wrong. Have a wonderful trip, and I hope that you have some great company for Thanksgiving. XOXOXOXO~ Janet (Shabbyfufu)
