I love pumpkins & gourds and fall colors but, as you may have noticed, oranges, yellows and browns don't fit my cottage color palette. So, what's a girl to do? The answer is quite simple: call on the Fabulous Fifi's style to transform them, which translates by glitter, glitz, shimmer and a little bling, of course..... All it took was some stencil paint and a few sparkling embellishments to plastic pumpkins and gourds I have had for years.....
Keep in mind this is still a work in progress and I have a few tricks & treats left for their completion. I took some quick photos but will reshoot them with my good camera when they are completed, hopefully before Halloween......
Each is decorated with items I had: rhinestones, crowns, tiaras, mask and "jewels" that were on old napkin rings...everything is hot glued so they can easily be removed if I decide I want to change them.....I have been known to change my mind...it's a girl thing....
Above:the mask on the green gourd and the crown on the tarnish gold pumpkin are Christmas ornaments..................
Below: a pumpkin got a coat of "Taupe" metallic stencil paint and pink glitter........
Below: a Christmas crown and a drawer pull........................
Below: these glass balls used to be on napkin rings. ...I just cut them off and glued them to the gourds.....The rhinestone crown was on a candle......For the pumpkin I mixed paint to get a pale mauve hue and sprinkled it with silver and pink glitter.
The gourd color is right out of the stencil paint bottle. It's metallic Silver. The glitter is silver and pink..........................................................................................
Below: The tiny blue pumpkin has blue glitter and a necklace of blue rhinestones. The tiny crown came from a frog ornament......the pumpkin on the right has white glitter, tiny rhinestones and 5 napkin rings "jewels"....................................................
Below: this gourd got white iridescent paint and blue glitter. The top is a little Christams ball and the "dream" sign used to hang on a bottle...............................................
I didn't make the stars. I found them yesterday (yes, I finally got out of the house for an hour...) at TJ Maxx and Home Goods ($7.99 a pack of 3)..................................they had silver, pink and turquoise. I didn' see any other colors but that doesn't mean they won't have them. They are with their Christmas stuff so it would be logical if they got gold, red and green......but, for me, these colors were perfect
Here is a close up of the stars.........................................................................
Below: my favorite pumpkin is the taupe-color one with the pink glitter and the tiara......
I love the luster and hue and the little tiara....it looks like a Cinderella pumpkin, especially when you add the little shoe................................
VOILA! Here is a recap of "Fifi Glamorous Gourds and Magic Pumpkins Extravanganza"...................yummy eye candy and NO CALORIES.......It sure took my mind of coughing and work............ENJOY......................................................

Just got my mail and had to tell you about another wonderful thing I received from Joy Zacyck from Ontario, Canada (www.thejoyof.blogspot.com)
I know I had admired the pin when JOY posted a photo of it on her blog but, in my pneumonia stupor, I can't remember if I had left a comment stating how much I loved it.....all I know is that Joy had asked me for my address so she could send me "a little thing that would fit in an envelope......" and here it is! Not only the vintage pin is beautiful but you should see the care Joy took in sending it! The envelope had lovely stickers with crowns--like the one above----and the pin itself was wrapped in pink tissue paper sealed with a real French stamp.......how thoughtful is that! THANK YOU JOY! xoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoxoFifi
PS: can you please give me YOUR address? I can't quite make out the street name and zip code on the envelope. Merci beaucoup.

Hi Fifi, I love your pumpkins. It's amazing what a little bit of Paint can do.. I painted mine pink, but didn't have any sparkles to put on them... maybe next year.
Did you find that the gourds took to the paint better then the "Live, just picked ones do?
Happy you are feeling a little bit better. Don't overdue and get a relapse...
Hugs,
Jan
